Whatever the weather or your budget, there’s bound to be something for you. We are ideally placed for touring West Wales with its beautiful beaches and countryside, and to help you make the most of your time we have plenty of maps, guidebooks and leaflets available in the cottages for you to use during your stay.
There are lots of ‘pathfinder’ walks in the area (again, books giving details of these are available in the cottages). There’s plenty of fishing and golf courses nearby. There’s bird watching (choughs, red kites and ravens can be seen locally) – there’s even a National Wetlands Centre less than 40 miles away.
There are nationally renowned gardens such as the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney, or if you prefer there are plenty of local private gardens open for charities in the summer under the National Gardens Scheme.
'Why not visit Laugharne with it's castle and Dylan Thomas' Boat House (15 miles) or the new horse racing course (the link to this is www.ffoslasracecourse.com ) (25 miles).
Or explore the many castles, reservoirs and lakes, museums and country parks – for instance Pembrey Country Park boasts a ski centre, cafes, seven miles of beach and also joins onto the coastal bike trail.
Pembrey motor circuit is less that 30 miles away and has, amongst other things, truck racing and motorcycle racing events throughout the year, or there’s local grass track racing throughout the summer months. The United Showground is only 20 minutes away and hosts events such as antique fairs, Homes & Gardens show etc, and if there’s no show on there’s a large car boot sale held there every Sunday morning.
There are many theme and adventure parks, the most famous being Oakwood Theme Park, but there’s also Folly Farm (open all year), go-karting, steam trains, and paintballing. There’s a chocolate factory, vineyards, potteries, the beautiful St David’s Cathedral, all within easy reach for you to explore. If you want to take it easy, there are art galleries or spas for you to enjoy. To give you more ideas, here are the tourism websites for the area:
